1.  Receive Your Posting Message
Once you get your posting message, you're COS is officially authorized, begin the following steps for your Military move.

​

2.  Register with IRP Supplier - Get their APP
New Supplier is inbound and should be finalized soon.  Set up your account using your posting details.  More info: MILITARY IRP GUIDE here.

3.  Contact a Realtor & Mortgage Broker Early
Reach out to a our IRP-experienced Realtor and mortgage broker as early as possible. We have Realtors here that know IRP thoroughly, across Canada. Choose your IRP Experienced Realtor here.  We also have Military Mortgage Specialists  too help you avoid future Posting Penalties too. They’ll guide you through market insights, property options, and affordability.

 

4. Book Your House Hunting Trip (HHT)
Coordinate your HHT with your chain of command and the IRP Supplier. Keep receipts and follow claim rules.  HHT FAQ here.

5.  Make Travel Arrangements Using Proper Tools
Book flights, accommodations, and rental car using the IRP APP or obtain proper pre-approval if booking independently. More info, go to Canadian Armed Forces Relocation Directive (CAFRD) : here

6.  Prepare Financially
Know your entitlements. Review allowances for meals, mileage, accommodations, and incidentals. Budget for expenses you may need to claim back later.

7.  Find Your Home & Make an Offer
During your HHT, select a property and make an offer. Your Realtor and mortgage broker will ensure the deal aligns with IRP policies.

​

8. Legal, Inspection & Insurance
Schedule a home inspection and hire an IRP approved lawyer. Line up property insurance for your closing date.

​

9. Submit All Required Claims & Paperwork
Upload all receipts and documents into the IRP system promptly for reimbursement.

​

10. Final Move
Coordinate your moving company (usually arranged via IRP supplier) , confirm key dates, and prepare for travel to your new posting.
